The Ride

He reached this point not too long ago
His true emotions he finally had shown
The tears in his eyes streamed down his face
The events that happened, no one could have begin to brace
"I could have saved him", he said," but I was to afraid"
"Now my friend is gone, and I'm the one to blame"
You see he lost his friend to alcohol; his friend had drove drunk
The more he thought about it, the more his heart sunk
"I handed him the keys and said he could drive"
"He drove and drove but he lost his life"
As he looked out that window, he prayed a silent prayer
As he shut the blinds from his wheelchair
One thing is learned; the best that can be shared
If you are indeed a friend show them that you care.
You see this guy was lucky, he still has his life
But look how he feels deep down inside.
As he goes to the grave he begins to cry.
"I should have never ever let you drive"
I'm sorry my friend, I'm sorry pal"
As he weeps for his brother six feet in the ground
