The Return

Pictures of a sunrise
Coming up between two hills,
Is simple but fulfilling
Excitement in me builds.

God promised us a blessing
When we daily look for Him,
In eager expectation of
His coming back again.

I long to paint the picture
In my heart with my own hands,
Of our names, He's written down
Long before the world began.

The sunrise, hills, and special names
Express joyful surety
Of Christ's faithfulness - His claim -
And my soul's security.

He will be within our hearts
Till we're with Him in the end.
For now we see but darkly,
Face-to-face, we'll see Him then.
