The Relief of Defeat

It is with joy upon this night
That I find no star shines as bright
As your memory upon which I look
And feel my heart, the piece you took
Though now I give it free
For there is no point concealing this part of me
And with envy my eyes no longer burn
For I do not seek your love returned
Instead I wonder on this hour
How best for you my love to shower
But I know not why I feel so gay
As defeat and love share this day
