The Reflection

In front of the mirror,

I stare into my eyes

To myself

I repeat I’m alive

A terrifying feeling,

A somber realization

Fear of seeing

The Loneliness of being

Trapped inside myself,

Death the only way out,

Hopelessness and doubt,

I look away,

But the feeling stays

Finally, reality abates

Fear Slowly fades,

Back to the mundane

To the charades

And then there is the option of thought rested stillness, devoid of fear & desire, when The Holy Spirit either descends or ascends, as the case may be, suffusing our form with waves of cascading bliss, an ignition in renewal, continual, within.

Oft times we do just that. Feeling there is no reason to go on, but then realize there are other so much worse off. Keep the strength of being able to look yourself in the eyes knowing life must go on. Very interesting poem.
