The Red-Haired Kid

The Red-Haired Kid

By Elton Camp

His mother, John continued to deride
“Son, there’s no red hair on either side.
I knew that wife would be a big mistake
And that she would bring you heartache.”

Such comments John tried to push aside
It’d been two years since he took a bride
In that time, no reason had he ever found
To think that his wife was sleeping around

But his mother had planted a suspicious seed
And to see a red-haired man was all he’d need
For him to watch the movements of their eyes
To see if his wife the man seemed to recognize

Of recessive genes, John had not a single clue
Of how to stay hidden they so often will do
When the two genes show up in the same child
The ignorant may feel justified to smirk & smile

i hope you are not treating a child differently because of paranoia? blood tests should be done, and even then how long did you love them for? sperm does not make a father...

hardly likely momma knows way back of genes of 1000 years ago? I have a friend, she is black..she was born with green eyes..all hell broke lose...they found out it was about 500 years ago to chinese history but it cost big bucks to trace..not many can go back more then 4-5 generations, the red hair could go back 20, does momma know 20 generations?
