The Red Parasol
Listen to poem:
Oh shaded beauty on the beach
who brings such classic elegance
your lovely smile puts yonder lighthouse in the shade
such exquisite beauty sat beside the sea
so picture perfect , so resplendent in pink
Oh shaded beauty on the beach
such delightful poise and so pleasing to the eye
such natural beauty so bewitched am I !
your lovely smile puts yonder lighthouse in the shade
like the fabled mermaid siren she draws me
no parasol can possibly shade such a vision as she
Oh shaded beauty on the beach
this blooming English rose besides the sea
a creature of the purest beauty
your lovely smile puts yonder lighthouse in the shade
the lady with the parasol sat by the sea
now if only you would see how much I wish you would marry me
Oh shaded beauty on the beach
your lovely smile puts yonder lighthouse in the shade
form villanelle as described on poetry soup
