The Realm of Rhyme and Rhythm

Ooh I'm in love with poems that rhyme
Poems enrapture by their tuneful chime.

Ah hickory dickory dock
It's fun to see poems roll n rock.

Poems with a merry, cheery catchy tune
whisk me into that classic poetic boon

Poems embroidered with melody
send me forth into rhapsody

Just try your voicebox at a sing-a-long
and watch a poem go ping pong, ding dong.

Ah, it's poems with a funky beat
that are to me such a poetic treat
They are the ones that have 
swept me off my feet.

Bouncy rhythms in rhyming verse
could be enjoyed even if they be a rant or terse.

I enjoy poems which bear those vivid rich tones
they'd even make ringtones for my cell-phones.

Poetic stanzas that have excellent symmetry
are my weakness in the realm of poetry.

Admirable is a well-structured rhyme scheme
provided you don't upset or stray from your theme.

Even silly nonsense rhymes give me a reader's thrill and fun
but meaninful rhyming ones
are ofcourse a bonus
as they make a two-in -one.

Ah poems with an astute rhythmic flow
are the ones for which you can take a bow
For no Dinars, dirhams or dime
do I sell my rhythm and buy your rhyme.

If you rhyme and write in meter
you can be sure I'll be your reader.
HAPPY RHYMING, CHIMING. 
And jingle bells sing ring.

I do write diffrnt forms bt my favt is rhyme .Rhyme n rhythm is a vry close connection., And indeed a melodious poetic variation..... My love n regards to rhytm and rhyme....

I could not agree more! You write a fetchy, catchy score Fair weather, great clime any 'ole time its fine with rhyme. A7, love your fine poem! Glad I read , I took the time with cell phones now, who needs a dime..lol

Very well said S.zaynub. This one was a joy to read and expressed many of the reasons that I too love to read the rhyming poems. The ones that sing to the heart and can be felt as you dance to the rhythm. Very nice my friend..... Robert.

Nicely expressed your inclination for rhym ..plus vry nice rhym itself in this poem, though i dont really feel the same for rhym but what comes more naturally ,in any form

Love your message in this write, Zaynub (is that your name?). I do write in free verse, at times, but nothing beats a well metered poem with rhyme. Have a nice day. // paul

This is a great poem on the importance of rhyme in poetry, as you put it, it's two in one, I love poems that rhyme, too, because otherwise you risk it just being prose, all good wishes for your work Rosemarie Rowley
