The Real Weapons of Mass Destruction

Greed, power, scandal, corruption
Synonymous with a war unjust
We blame it on the politicians who caused the obstructions.
Fueled by the propaganda, we heard the lies; we bought the talk; in leaders we put our trust.
Behind the black curtain of smoke, roadside bombs and bodies strewn,
like ornamental flowers of carnage and gory death.
Our government slowly deteriorating under massive debts, but they are immune
to the debts that the soldier must face as he waits to take his last breath.
We shouldn’t have stayed
We shouldn’t have gone
Nothing can be said or done to allay
the feeling that maybe, just maybe, our “Leader” was wrong.
