Notes About The Poem

The Rainshade

The voice of spring rain It’s darkly etched, in the sky face, rainshade in the main, I don't complain. lyrical steps falling, frothing seductively, slo-flowing rain that they are strained. The weather vane's become inane, when every day it rains again. It's plain to see for you and me it has to be the end * of play.

Dearest Lasaad! You have wonderfully captured the lyrical rhythms of a playful rainstorm! How beautifully you express that rhythmic magic of rain! Wonderful, bouncy imagery! Although, I do have to share, growing up in the Pacific NW, we often played in the rain. If we didn't we might have played outside for weeks on end in the winter and sometimes in the summer. So many wonderful memories your delightful poem brought back to me. Blessings!

I love that opening line, “ voice of spring rain” i had that as a prompt too on instagram sometime. And its absolutely stunning how you’ve used it here in such a heartfelt and profound manner. I am seeing these shape poems and it is very interesting to learn and read. Loving also the rhymes here and the imagery of rain and how one feels when it rains too everyday. You can write on any form and still deliver the same brilliance. Enjoyed reading this
