Notes About The Poem

The Rainbow Angel

If you see a rainbow Angel
You have glimpsed a time before
Long ago in legend
When through the sky She tore

She brought luck good and bad
Depending who you were
Only seen in stormy skies
Dense black clouds she would stir

As the rain came pouring down
She would flit from cloud to cloud
Curving on the rainbow
As thunder roared aloud

Her wings of fragile gossamer
Made sure she stayed aloft
Rain to fill the rivers
Made the hard ground soft

So if you see that Angel
Tell no one what you saw
She could be there to help you
But maybe just one flaw

She may try to warn you
To lead a better life
To use her vision splendid
To ease pain for those in strife

A task that will consume your time
Leave not so much for you
A task of such importance
She will give Her blessing too
