Notes About The Poem

I planted these bulbs several years ago..The leaves come up but the plant does not bloom until a rain..I water them but they won't bloom until the rain..

The Rain Lily

.

                                                Rain did abate
                                             Abrogate drought
                                              Rain dates flower

                                              Rain Lily blooms
                                           It's costume grand
                                              Resumes flirting

Carol Fillmore August 18, 2011 at 9:06 PM I like this Sara. Wonderful imagery. This is a new form to me...I'll have to check it out:) Yes my muse is missing in action, no idea where she's at lol. My poetry drought seems to be ending...yeah! And yes most writers do experience this at some time or another...and perhaps more than one episode:( Main thing is, the writing/poetry returns!
