The Rain Is Softly Falling

The rain is softly falling But the birds are still singing. The earth’s being replenished; God doesn’t cease His giving. Rain is such a blessing; It cools the hot summer’s day. When we see it falling, We should thank God always. Rain provides us with water, So that we can freely drink; When we get thirsty, Just go to the kitchen sink. It provides us with produce From the garden where it grows. Our daily provisions From God’s valleys high and low. Rain is essential For our existence here on earth. As essential as the sun For to new life it gives birth. I love to hear it falling All those tiny drops; Refreshing God’s creations Until it finally stops. Then the sun comes out again The drops all disappear; Evaporated by the sun Orchestrated by our God who cares. Copyright © Maureen LeFanue 2007-2011 www.maureenlefanue.com
