The Raging Sea
I love the sands, their crisp heat,
As I walk on them bare feet,
they grasp my feet that sink in
like they are my next of kin.
roaring sea has things to say,
past hungry gulls vocal fray,
white with froth rushes to me,
in awe I drop to my knee.
golden rays ride morning air,
sets day for another fare,
see a bird steal unwary fish,
a creature’s life, creature’s dish!
moist sands record each detail,
feet or paw prints without fail,
patterns carved by waves that have been,
they hold time’s designs yet unseen.
have walked miles along nature’s park,
with the black ravens and the sweet larks,
for wealth, this life was never meant to be,
I am nature, part of this raging sea!
Rhyme
7-8 syllables
last stanza 9 to 10
a wave, a leaf, a life, a cloud -
what is the difference?
