The Raft
Within his mind he is asleep at times
For most of the journey he is awake
Creating his direction as he steams ahead
Adrift on this raft with only his arms for steer
Lonesome and tired he feels tried
But he approaches the tests he himself creates
And passes them each time or so he thinks
Philosophical in nature he is mesmerized by thought
If only he bought that book that day
But he was selfish and in the end the focus was on himself
He was aware of what he had done
But decided not to dwell for the swell would become great
So he moved on and had a great time
All those around him were in such delight
As he entered the room with the chorus of welcome
He realized he had become the man he was, is and will be
For it was always his destiny to float free and just be
