The Race
Click-ity clack,
the wagon tools along,
the road;
as fast as it can go.
The wheel(s) barely…
hanging on.
That is how we run through life,
riding on three of four,
or maybe half footed,
left footed,
or even…
three toed.
Slow down,
the race can not be won.
It has already finished.
He was, Is and Always,
will be.
I am trying to stop the chaos,
I am desperate to slow it down.
The world does not care,
about my life,
or yours, or yours.. or…
It is in a hurry to rush for the cliff,
to take a dive off the edge,
into the abyss…
and then.
Breathe…
Him in
and you will know…peace.
Take Him in…
and you will find…
empathy, mercy and compassion.
Choose him…
humility, service and love.
Ever grateful for what is not deserved.
Ever bowing and knowing,
that there is no greater privilege
than to be among the counted.
You, me, we…
bought and paid for,
beyond the measure of our ability…
to count.
