The Quietness

The Quietness

The moon is shining bright tonight
Casting shadows in its glow
Deep in the dead of night
Reflecting a silver blue on the snow.

There is a quiet hush that befalls
The silence of new fallen snow
The glorious hand of God
Designing beautiful landscapes for show

Not everyone can enjoy these scenes
Brought about by God’s loving hand
And I am so glad to be observing
The quiet snowflakes as they land

There is complete and utter beauty
That God has given us each day
But if we don’t stop to notice
It is easy to lose our way.

There are many times I’ve lost my way
Working hard to just stay alive
But sometimes I have to stop to see
I don’t have to struggle so hard to survive

The hand of God works within me
And I just need to stop and observe
Like the quiet of new fallen snow
I find peace in my heart well deserved

The moon is shining bright tonight
Casting shadows in its glow
But it brings peace and love to me
In the quietness of my soul.
