The Quickest Way to Double Your Money

With interest rates staying so low
On savings, there’s little dough

It seems the Fed will keep it that way
Until the economy sees a better day

On CDs we once got five percent
Down the drain that return went

Retirement plans it badly upset
Less than one percent we now get

If an alternate investment you choose,
Even the principal you well may lose

So until interest rates finally rise again
There’s only one way that we can win

Spending habits we are forced to adjust
In this economy, it has become a must

To double money, Will Rogers did recommend
Fold it over and return it to your pocket again

We enjoyed the 5% days with the nice monthly check it brought to supplement other income. It was "free" money that we felt we could spend as we pleased. We have had to cut back on some purchases. People who largely depended on interest income for necessities are in a dilemma. Thanks for reading. Elton
