The Proposal

The Proposal By Rick Rucker The most amazing thing happened yesterday, A day that began cold, and gray, The woman that I had asked to be my Wife, Found a solution to my financial strife! The problem was too close to me, A way out, I could not see, But she is far smarter than I, I am, after all, a guy! It involves a great sacrifice, A plan that is so much more than nice! I had made the situation far too complicated, In a day, an elegant solution she had created! Where, before, there had been clutter, She cut through it, as a warm knife, through butter! I had begun to wonder not when, but whether, We would ever live together, A couple things still must take place, But she put a smile on my face! That she would work so hard, So that we could share a home, and yard, Brought a tear to my eye, I am one very lucky guy! With it, she made a promise to me: Without her, I will never be! So, you see, I will get what I am after, To live with her, in Love and Laughter!
