The Promise of Glory

He wanted his glory to be sound And for medals to be found So he enlisted to wear the uniform Looking good even in death would be not forlorn He did his duty but did not find The glory that was in his mind For he was injured and suffered still There is no glory in this uniform deal. © Paul Warren

Most certainly not...If something is sad...it's in this poem...someone conditioned to believe in a Glory that will never be...All the best Paul
