The Promise Land

Time and memories heal our sad hearts
Life goes on as we are apart
We will treasure you as parents who did their best
The deep emptiness we feel today
With time will slowly go away
TWO very special people to me
My dear parents you see
When you cross that river hand in hand
When you reach that promise land
I know you will be looking back to see
Your life and how it used to be
We are the ones left behind
Taking comfort in the memories we find
We are thankful for the time we had
We love you more dearly, mom and dad

Such a truth filled poem, my mom raised me and I could not ask for a better role model. She is now gone but the love she gave still lingers on. God Bless you, this is a beautiful write. Ron

Phyllis, this is so touching. Yes, we should honor our parents that had passed with the fond memories and smile in knowing that they were as much part of our lives as we were of theirs. Simply beautiful! Michael
