The Promise
ten days, ten long days until we meet,
To me this will be the most wondrous treat;
we talked for weeks and gotten to know,
that we both share loves' radiant glow;
my heart and your heart long to entwine,
with a love that's true and totally divine;
my arms and your arms long to embrace,
hold each other as we stand face to face;
never again will we ever be apart,
as this is the beginning of life's new start;
so much alike in all we say and do,
that only our love will ever shine through;
that you will be my one and only love,
is a promise I make and swear to God above.
