The Presentation
Life comes through with delivered packages of hope
Intermittent struggle but I kept from fallling off the tight rope.
I kept from falling out of sight though.
money not a problem, that's life, unless bills come through "i can't get a loan" I might though.
Exhausted from a work shift not physically intensive
Fall asleep on a chair, wake up and search for meals non-extensive.
Tv, screens, computer screens, phone screens, and if you scream there may be something wrong with your brain you see?
Make an appointment and wait in line
Next to the guy with a cane
Your doctor will ask you if you plan
On hurting yourself, you say no
You had a rough day.
But still nothing is the same
You forgot why you came.
The doctor prescibes lexapro for the emotional pain
so you don't scream when you feel your emotions
but then you wait 3 weeks
You wait, and you wait.
You don't scream anymore.
No emotion was the trade.
These modern time scenes of the 21st century
Bring depletions of dopamine
("Please anything green," screams society!)
We still have imaginary lines
imaginary friends
imaginary sums of money
supporting melancholy sheep
defending the farm
continued imaginary lines
playing war games.
And by the time a new design arrives
to make the dying look alive
A package!
Just in time
The human race will look rats
Waiting in line for their turn to die.
