The Power of Words

A word isn’t a breeze that just drifts away..
It settles in hearts long after you say.
It echoes in silence, it lingers and stays..
In moments remembered for nights and for days.

A tongue holds the power to shatter or save..
To lift someone high or push them away.
A sentence can cradle, a whisper can sting..
A handful of syllables can mean everything.

You won’t always recall the things that you said..
But someone still carries them deep in their head.
Or maybe your kindness became their repair..
A breath of pure love.. wrapped gently with care.

For words can be venom, sharp, bitter, and cold..
They bruise unseen places and silently hold.
Or words can be warmth, like a pulse you can't see..
Restarting a heart on the brink of defeat.

So choose what you speak, let compassion take lead..
Not anger, not ego, not pride or pure greed.
Because once they are spoken, they don’t disappear..
They live in a heartbeat.. year after year.
