THE POETS
We are the conscience of the heart; the custodians
of her emotions: conjuring, molding, sculpting and
etching her most sacred feelings upon the canvas
of time’s times.
We are devoted lexical midwifes;
delivering depolarized doses of liberated thoughts
from the wombs of metrical pregnant minds.
We are dream catchers of the soul;
unflinching emissaries of truth’s truth;
unafraid to dispel lies and expose hypocritical cries.
We are the mourners and revelries of nations;
standing strong, silently screaming,
slowly stirring sleeping souls:
We are poets.
