The Poet
Poets require passion and sensitive feelings
Of life’s experiences and all its dealings
Love, happiness, pain and sorrow
To understand today and want tomorrow
It’s not enough to feel the mood
Something inside gets stirred and moved
Like listening to music or being able to sing
Poets write; the release is everything
An orchestration of words, arranged and played
Strung together and then conveyed
To eyes and ears in sentence and verse
Dwelled on and read, for better or worse.
