The Pill

It was the pill the doctor had said so To take it near the toilet and away you’ll go So I sat with pill in my hand With a glass of water at my ready command So I took it and there was a gurgling sound As I ran a away to the toilet bound And I sat on the throne for 20 minutes flat Whilst playing Annie Laurie on the organ so loudly at that There was some painting around the WC That took a while to clean well you see So I rang the doctor who enquired from me Had his mother’s Austrian recipe worked so beautifully. © Paul Warren Poetry
