The Pilgrim
I embark on a journey
Looking for a country
Where there is no bitterness or rancor
Where family live in unity and love
Where households are at peace
Where there is no squabble for material things
Where there are no trust issues
And suspicions
Countries are at war because of greed
And self indulgence
Selflessness is now scarce
Power, lust and sex
Has become the bane of a sane society
If it can be expunged or tamed
Will society be a better place?
Families have been thorn apart
Because of these things
On my journey I have discovered
That things fire can not consume are things I must pursue
Pursuing Gods kingdom first
The fruit thereof is peace and joy
Acquisition and primitive accumulation is now like a plague
Which can’t produce life only short term joy
And also a snare to Satan’s enclave
True and practical Godliness must be a panacea
To all the troubles in the world
Unfortunately we live in an imperfect world
But we strive towards perfection
Through the chastisement of sufferings and trials we encounter on our short stay on earth.
Again as I journeyed
I discovered with bitterness
There is a day we all must die and must give account to God almighty
Again all we have accumulated and acquired
Remains here on earth
For the realm of the spirits is intangible
Different from the physical
