The Pharisees

The Pharisees

In retrospect, when looking back,
I did not realize, at the time
how could these people just attack,
if you're so righteous; "what's the crime?"
is there something I am missing
all this hatred for just one man
made me realize why I'm listening,
for I am blessed to understand

they took his words and twisted them
to make it seem like blasphemy
repeat the lies enough to stem
   to "Crucify!", should we believe
and even now, when he is gone
they know his name is still a threat
the time is near, we must be strong
but yet so many must repent

I hope to God that now you see
they aim to conquer and divide
as in the days of Noah, are we
we shall not entertain their lies
for not one stone will still remain
family values - search / destroy
attack the children - that's the game -
   at our foundation: they've deployed

by distraction and trick of hand
with only half of half a truth
not left or right will understand
the fig tree soon will bear its fruit
and now I see how he was used
I hope that I can also too
I pray to God that now you see
   who are these "so-called" Pharisees?
