The Perfect President

A President should preside.
Not override
His opponents and supporters

A President should preside.
Not override
Rules to be altered

A President should preside.
Not override
Others opinions

A President should preside.
Not override
His Dominion

A President should preside.
Not decide
His voice is law

A President should preside.
Not override
Good that has been done before

A President should preside.
Not override
Qualified people who know better

A President should preside
And preside to the letter.

Nobody is perfect but not everyone is corrupt. We all have rules to live by especially if you have the responsibility and honour of being elected as President of your country. hopefully leaving a cleaner house for the next President of whatever party they represent...

Shirley Hawkins March 30, 2021 at 5:54 PM That's true Milton. Nobody's perfect. We all have to obey rules whether we like it or not. This should apply to the President as he should be in control. This control would bring him respect and trust and make a good foundation over time to bring back some continuity and structure for the future. Thank you for your comment, it was much appreciated. When the job is as important as being President it is an honour not bestowed on many people. The President has to give his all to his position of power and not abuse it. My poem is saying how I think the ground rules for someone in this position should try to put into practice. Take care, Shirley
