The People I Meet
I’m quite grateful for all the people I meet
They provide inspiration though I march to a different beat
The words they say merge as one with my heart
They provide the foundation on which I can start.
I seem to be quite stubborn I let pride get in my way
But the winds of change are blowing sweeping me away
I look for some guidance from up above
Peace flies by me in the form of a dove.
Every little piece becomes a part of the whole
Still I’m searching for some pieces of my soul
I don’t know how it happened but they seem to be lost
Peace and tranquility became the price that it cost.
I seem to do better but then I’m never quite sure
I’ve been to the threshold but couldn’t open the door
I’m learning to believe in more than what I just see
One thing I know it’s redefining me…
I’m not saying I’m fixed yet I see a little clearer
The refection is me that I see in the mirror
I’m just getting tired of doing the same things
And then feeling sad about what not changing brings.
Thank you to all of you for just being there
I was quite mistaken that nobody cared
The day will always end and the sun shall set
Be careful what you wish for it may be what you get.
