The Peak, My Goal, This Time

Thank you for my breath, last
My body holds up, at half mast
My mind wanders in thoughts, dark
The sun shines brightly in contrast, stark

Another scandal I cannot bear
Life was meant to be fair
Evil triumphs over good
Darkening my mood

Elsewhere we have a new POTUS
As, on BBI signatures, we focus
Thank you for mercies small
They allow me to stand tall

January drags slowly along
Only hope makes me strong
Another hill I must climb
The peak, my goal, this time
