The Path To Salvation

While wicked people cursed God
for the unstoppable heavy rains,
climbing mountains and being
swept away by the currents...
Noah was safe in his huge ark,
although he couldn't see
anything: he was blessed and happy
being surrounded by his godly family.
Noah saved the human race
and the animal kingdom,
he obeyed the God of Israel...
our eternal and merciful father;
blessed he be eternally
for letting his children
continue their path to salvation.
Is there another Noah
to help us in our tribulation,
swiftly carrying us away
in a huge wooden ark
to avoid the horrible
destruction coming soon?
As Noah's days were there,
so they are now: violence,
lust and greed are destroying
our society not taking heed.
There is another Savior:
Christ: the Word who created us:
follow Him when frightening signs
become the dire of the lawless,
the unjust and the defilers of flesh;
as Noah obeyed his Creator
before the Deluge, we must obey
Christ when He returns to Earth.

Hi Andrew, a profound poem! Echoing past as an omen for the present. I also wrote a poem based on Biblical teachings (psalm 91:1), if you are interested: http://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/the_secret_place_of_the_most_high_823556
