The Past
Ever since I was a little kid,
I have always wanted to do more then my parents did.
After my mom split and left town
My dad was never around.
I promised my self life would not be like this anymore.
With the fighting and slamming of the doors.
I decided to go back to school once more,
For this is what I thought would help me get my foot in the door.
Now that I have only 24 credits more to get,
I will have my bachelors degree yet.
It has been a long hard struggle for me,
ever since my parents abandon me
But the one thing I have learned all these years later
is that life will never be the same as it once was.
I'm all grown up with a family of my own,
And I know my kids will always want to come home.
Now for once I have the family I've always wanted
