The Past
Moving forward
Letting go of the past
Unbinding my being
From the shadow it cast
This shadow is darkness
Which holds all my grief
It stops me from living
My happiness thief
The darkness is a burden
That will never leave
My most painful memories
It will retrieve
Reminding me of my flaws
To break me from being strong
Wanting me to suffer
In all I’ve done wrong
I want to break away
From the shadow that is cast
But I stay living
In the shadow of my past
