The Passing Storm

Distant thunder wakes the trees
In the early morning light
Their leaves begin to twist and turn
As the wind displays it's might

The raindrops play a familiar tune
As they strain to reach the ground
The clouds are dark and angry
No sunlight can be found

All the birds seek shelter
To escape the coming storm
The trees now bow to meet the ground
As the wind betrays their form

The dusty land welcomes the rain
That quences its untold thirst
The Monsoon season has now arrived
To bless what once was cursed

A flash of lightning splits the sky
On its way to an unknown place
Another one quickly follows
Like they were meant to race

Then all at once was silence
As the winds begin to die
The mighty storm was over
And quickly passes by
