The Parachute Jump

A quick sketch did the nervous teen etch
a few breaths before the parachute jump

Creased it with sweat, gave it to his girl
who pressed it tightly to her heaving breast

Then shut her eyes, couldn't bear to see
once the countdown arrived at three

A splash she thought she'd heard, but wait
the sketch ~ a winged angel at heaven's gate
