The Paper Bag Princess

The Paper Bag Princess written and illustrated by men, A fantastic lesson that quickly empowers women. If you have not read it, it packs a life-changing punch. Illustrated by Martchenko, written by Robert Munsch. This sparse, children’s book was given to me by my college prof. “It reminds me of you,” she said, “And is interesting stuff.” The unique illustrations are wonderful, the dragon is really scary. It makes you think maybe you don’t have to be in such a hurry to marry.

I know this one well. Did amateur acting in group that performed for preschoolers upwards in 70's and 80's. We had a lot of fun with it. Always good to read work from a poet that I have not followed. Best regards David in NZ

I love the last line: So poignant and so, so true. What's the rush?! Marriage is for a lifetime. Let it be at the right time, with the right partner, and with blessing! Thanks for this message, Caren! :) gw

I remember in the 70's feeling like an old maid when I didn't get married until I was 19. Lots of guilt about "waiting". What?
