The Pane of Separation

Outside, other children play.
Inside, something makes me stay,
a separation I can feel -
invisible, but no less real.

Oh sorry. I thought this was your lento for that one contest I saw. If it's not, you are perfectly fine.

Yup, I have a separate lento in the works! Thanks for looking out for me though!

I love the message here and the play on pane. I am not sure I would consider your first words as true rhymes. Check with Rhymezone.

Man, every time I return from not being gone you are ROCKING IT even more than before. You were born a poet and someone forgot to tell you, maybe because 'they' didn't think it would be lucrative and wanted you to eat. EXCELLENT ... Oh, and the pun CayCay

Thanks, CayCay - haha, yep, not too many men can live on poetry alone!

A very good write. I tried replacing 'pane' with 'pain', it worked both ways for me. Enjoyed reading it.

Thanks, Pascal! Yep, I wanted to give double meaning to pane/pain. The way I pictured the poem is a kid looking out a window at other kids playing and use the window as a sort of metaphor.
