The Pain We Deserve
I am not alone in my wait for appreciation-
For our efforts which appear pointless, to the world we are choosing too much recreation.
What they don’t understand is that we are trying hard to impress.
That we have sacrificed our peace to the point of distress.
We are ashamed that we are impaired.
Society threatens us with guilt, as if we don’t care.
As if we can choose not to wait helplessly.
Our friends we make are only temporary.
This pain we have shown we are deserving.
To this world, we are sorry- that we have no talent to be serving.
