The Owl
THE OWL
Seeing far and wide
Patiently awaiting
He plans
The movement of his head
Is measured and silent
Built for stealth it stays still
Listening in stereo
Swinging his head from side to side
Seeing deep into the dark
Perched like a ghost
On a moonlit night
He hoots
Announcing to the night
His dominance of the dark
None but he rules the twilight
None but he sings so forlornly
None but he is majestic yet unseen
Voles beware
Your nemesis is on duty
Your rustles will betray you
Your whispers will inform on you
A highly successful predator
The master of the night
Never goes hungry
Nothing can escape
This feathered reaper of
The silent night
