The Outstretched Arm
Hanging in mid air
In defiance to wear
My hand stretched out
Tolerant and patient
In genuineness it sought
Friendship beyond the horizon front
It wasn’t begging
It wasn’t warning
It wasn’t betraying
It wasn’t threatening
IT WAS BECKONING
IT WAS CALLING
IT WAS MOTIONING
IT WAS SEEKING
A friend
A companion
A confidant
A fellow warm hand
WHY DID YOU TURN MY STRETCHED ARM DOWN?
