produce the pretty
in the ugly of us all

love calls us all in
passion first
above all
dripping honey

calls forth
something outside
of lovers all
the well lit paths
of distant hearts
addressing the
undressing of all
baptismal
it’s only natural
to take first
the fall, deeply
submerged
we hold each
other tall sometime
where we share
the other’s name
