The Other Side

Nothing in the one that is here to stay
His lifeless retracing goes on day through day
The words that he speaks can make it alright
But within my sleep the words collapse into the night

A darkness so close that won’t disappear
I see it under the skins that I dress with my fear
I’m too worthy of silencing everything
But I still feel alive and I continue sing

Slithering out of my instinctive cage
A devil that only wants to end his rage
With a nature that builds an empire of disrepair
No matter what falls, I’m always there

A bottle so close to drown my mind
And a reason to take every drug I find
Still losing blood no matter where I go
But I still push away and I still make me know

Cutting the wires that will make me dance
Escaping the master and maintaining distance
The shadows around me are here to remind
That the master of darkness is just on the other side

Nothing within the one that’s here to stay
A clever illusion that covers some space
He’s caught in between the void and his skies
The only question that’s left is in which one will I die?
