The Other Man

Through a friend of a friend I found a half,
Half of a mind and half of a heart.
An intertwined puzzle with no end, just a start,
Through a friend of a friend I found a half.

The joining of two, the isolation of one,
Why live in the past? What’s done has been done.
And to your open arms I will openly run,
The joining of two, the isolation of one.

In a matter of days I was faced with perfection,
And the face that I found was the face that I love.
We fit, you and I, master’s hand, maker’s glove,
In a matter of days I was faced with a choice.

And the choice that I made completed the whole,
That half of a mind and half of a heart.
In you I found that last missing part,
Yes, the choice that I made completed the whole.

Very clever phrasing... your first and last verses in abba rhyming, and then one in mono-rhyming, and the third with the second and third lines rhyming with especially smooth cadence, and then '...I was faced with a choice,' which sets up the last verse perfectly. Beautifully crafted and articulated. :))
