The Original Twelve Days of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
His Son's sacrifice on a tree.

On the second day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
Two Testaments. (Old and New Testaments)

On the third day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
Faith, hope, love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

On the fourth day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
Four Gospel books. (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John)

On the fifth day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
The Pentateuch. (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy)

On the sixth day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
Six days of creation. (Genesis 1)

On the seventh day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
Seven spiritual gifts. (1 Corinthians 12:8-10)

On the eighth day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
Eight beatitudes. (Matthew 5:3-10)

On the ninth day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
Nine spiritual fruits. (Galatians 5:22-23)

On the tenth day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
The Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20)

On the eleventh day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
Eleven disciples. (Judas excluded)

On the twelveth day of Christmas my Father gave to me...
Twelve Points of Doctrine, (in the Apostle's Creed)

Eleven disciples,

The Ten Commandments,

Nine spiritual fruits,

Eight beatitudes,

Seven spiritual gifts,

Six days of creation,

The Pentateuch,

Four Gospel books,

Faith, hope, love,

Two Testaments,

and His Son's sacrifice on a tree.

Inspired by a meme on the original "12 days of Christmas." (I can't take too much credit for this. I only put it to tune.)

A GrEaT poem, Juliet!!! Did not know that spiritual number of the Apostle Creed. Ty for the knowledge tip. But, Meesa did know 'bout the Twelve tribes of Resurrection perfection. A creatively brilliant take on a popular Christmas song. Love and happy holidays.

Thanks, Freddie. I think I like the twelve tribes better, but I saw a meme and an article stating that this was the history behind the song. We go to a Free Lutheran Church and recite the apostles Creed regularly, but I didn't know there were 12 points of doctrine either. Thanks for the comments. Merry Christmas to you.
