The Orient Express

THE ORIENT EXPRESS

There is this Beautiful, Ghost, Train.
She, all the time, rides the rails into my brain !
Memories of Her, will not refrain
from creating so much strain
upon the hours of my day, of my night,
as the thoughts of, are forever in flight.
Vision of our moments, forever in my sight.
The moments, now, are heavy, never are they light.

A hunting whistle, in the foggy distance, will blow.
It echoes across this barren land
all we shared, all that I know,
no longer to touch your face or take your hand.
Oh Steam Engine, ( Orient Express ), history !,
You’ve, become, as must the engine of my story.

Hello, William. Great name by the way! Ghost she might be, I am going out on a limb here, and hope it doesn't break. But, I'm sensing that you may have been in the railroad business? Watch my limb break here. haha Regardless, loved it, and it would have made for a nice narrative. Well penned my friend, and looking forward to reading more of your work. Best of Wishes, William

Atfield Jr. [email protected] Thursday, September 10th, 2020, at 8:41 PM Hello to you too William : And yes it is a “ Great name by the way! ”. Glad you like it and carry it well . You over whelm me with your interest, your praise “ loved it ”, “ would have made for a nice narrative .”, “ Well penned my friend ” and for visting my site . I am sorry William, but you are correct “ Watch my limb break here. ”. The only business I had with the rail road was, as a young and foolish lad, {{ 8 to 10 }} hitching rides, taking them from one end of town to the other, and one time, unlocked the breaks and a car derailed .

This rhyme was the fruits from a love afair with a young {{ thirty years my junior }} exotic, oriental beauty who is now a ghost within my memories hoard, yet every once in a while blows her whistle into my answering machine but does not return the echoes I leave on her answering service or gmail . Che sara sara . As Always B. J. “A ” 2 (( Bill . ))
