The Orange Lights

I have seen them
the eternal embers falling
like stars, they gleam
out from yonder
orange,yellow flames
plummeting towards the ground.

I thought it beautiful
wishing to hold it in my palm
a faerie I could catch and tame
mine forever.

Till that flame hit my house
and my mood transformed to horror.
