The Only Happiness Is Within Ignorance

Show me beauty
Something that just can’t be stolen
It seems that I can not find it
I am lost in a nightmare
Loveless, breathing in the ashes
I’ve given up before I even try

Show me something I’ve forgotten
Fear seems to be all I know
I’m broken here, nothing can save me
Horror of a zombie nation
I stand alone with my hopes and dreams
But terror makes me run away

I had better give in
Before I take you down now
It’s best if you close your eyes
I had better give up
Before I take your hand now
It’s best if you ignore my lies
These words
Broken glass
Unheard
Drinking from the bloody bath

Show me why
Your posture is a pageless book
The story of a poet’s death
You cry
Pretend that you never noticed
Inside you’re scarred and locked away

I had better give in
I’ve learnt that I must be silent
It’s best if I just stand and smile
I had better give up
With you I’m killing what’s left within me
I’m through but I still can’t be free
I fall
Bleeding hands
I crawl
Into the blood red sands of now
Hoping there’s a way somehow
