The One Who Waits At Home

Sometimes, in solitude's embrace, When, alone and far from home, My thoughts drift homeward to the one Who waits there all alone. As night and day each other pass, No matter where I roam, In quiet times my heart recalls The one who waits at home. The one who waits at home Deserves much more from life Than lonely nights resulting from Her choice to be a traveler's wife' I hope she feels the fond embrace Of love's vibrations sent --- I hope she knows deep in her heart Just what her love has meant. When days are filled with heavy loads -- When nights are not the same As those I share, when time permits, With the one who shares my name -- When all is dark, and hope seems lost, and I feel so all alone, my spirits rise when I recall the one who waits at home.
