The One That Got Away
On the streets of a cold night i walk,
Its half-pass nine, and i recall
Its valentine's day, having no partner,
I sing out to the stars,
Throwing stones on the waters,
Cooling off my puffed anger,
looking up, i see brown,
An ex-lover, smiling endlessly at me,
Its you, the one i often call "the one that got away"
Finally having a date, i smiled all through,
We moved to a nearby restaurant,
There we exposed our secrets of leaving the ship,
He was so much of a glutton,
That was my excuse,
Was that really enough reason to leave?
Or i just had not figured out why,
He blushed saying
"you were too much of a snub"
A snub? i never knew i was, he never told me,
He always kept to himself leaving me with no clue.
I didn't just want to be a pest i guess.
Our past memories flashes through,
And i finally got the one that stole my heart ,
We could solve our little problems in our closet.
